For Jaughn D., high school has been about balancing hard work, leadership, and enjoying every moment along the way. Whether he was competing on the football field or creating innovative projects in advanced robotics, Jaughn made the most of every opportunity to grow, challenge himself, and connect with others.

One of his favorite parts of school has been the teamwork and discipline that came from playing football, alongside the creativity and problem-solving involved in advanced robotics. That balance between strength and strategy perfectly reflects who Jaughn is as both a student and a leader.

Outside of school, Jaughn stays active and competitive. He enjoys weightlifting, playing basketball with friends, and spending time gaming on NBA 2K. He also has a strong interest in politics and enjoys researching and learning more about the world around him — a passion that speaks to his curiosity and desire to stay informed.

When asked what quote inspires him, Jaughn chose the Latin phrase, “Carpe Diem, quam minimum credula postero,” which translates to “Seize the day, putting as little trust as possible in tomorrow.” It’s a mindset that encourages living boldly, staying present, and making every moment count — something Jaughn clearly embodies.

His music taste is just as versatile as his interests, with favorites including Drake, Brent Faiyaz, Daniel Caesar, and Young Thug.

After graduation, Jaughn plans to attend LSU to study Civil Engineering. With his determination, intelligence, and strong work ethic, there’s no doubt he will build an incredible future ahead. LSU is lucky to have him!
